Good Hjorth Scandinavian Pottery mid century modern bulbous base bud vase. Nice shape with good color and glaze. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked with BM logo for the Bornholm Art Museum which took over the Hjorth factory in 1993 and artist cipher. Vase is 5 1/2" tall and 2 3/4" wide. Hjorth was established in Denmark in 1859 by Luritz Adolph Hjorth. Hjorth produced high-quality studio pottery as well as production pieces. Hjorth was considered the premier art pottery maker in Bornholm and produced quality examples throughout the art deco and biomorphism movements.

Very tall Hjorth Scandinavian Pottery mid century modern mottled brown floor vase. Striking design, color and glaze. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked with logo, L HJORTH and DENMARK. Vase is an impressive 14 1/2" tall and 7" wide. We purchased this vase from a private collector who purchased it on Bornholm, the home island of Hjorth and he took it to the Hjorth museum. While there he met Marie Hjorth and she attributed the vase to be a unique work done by her father, Erik Hjorth. Hjorth was established in Denmark in 1859 by Luritz Adolph Hjorth. Hjorth produced high-quality studio pottery as well as production pieces. Hjorth was considered the premier art pottery maker in Bornholm and produced quality examples throughout the art deco and biomorphism movements.

Attractive Rorstrand Pottery decorative plate. Great form with good color and glaze. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked with logo, RORSTRAND and signed NYLUND. Plate is 1 1/4" tall and 9" in diameter. Rorstrand was established in Sweden in 1726. In 1931 Gunnar Nylund along with Carl-Harry Stalhane (who was appointed senior artist in 1939) began developing the simple, organic shapes that have since become so sought-after by collectors. Rorstrand is probably the most widely recognized Scandinavian art pottery.

Good mid century Rorstrand Pottery vase in a really cool snake skin glaze. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked as seen in photo including Ateleje mark. Some markings have been glazed over. Vase is 4 3/4" tall and 2 1/2" wide. Rorstrand was established in Sweden in 1726. In 1931 Gunnar Nylund along with Carl-Harry Stalhane (who was appointed senior artist in 1939) began developing the simple, organic shapes that have since become so sought-after by collectors. Rorstrand is probably the most widely recognized Scandinavian art pottery. A limited production series called an Ateleje, or workshop, was created in 1961 for Stalhane. The Ateleje also included the work from Inger Persson, Hertha Bengston, and Sylvia Leuchovious. The Ateleje series was not commercially viable and was soon dissolved.

Great art deco Royal Copenhagen flared rim pottery vase. Great mold, color and glaze. EXCELLENT CONDITION. There is a minute tip of a pencil sized fleck at the rim that has been colored in.
