Very rare and important Ouachita Art Pottery carved and decorated matte green arts and crafts vase. Nice design with good color. EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. No cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Minor kiln mark to body as shown. Bottom marked with OUAUCHITA POTTERY and HOT SPRINGS, ARK. Vase is 4" tall and 4 3/4" wide. Ouachita Pottery was in existence from 1905 to 1908 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Arthur Dovey a potter at Rookwood is believed to be responsible for the development of art pottery for Ouachita. It is believed that Ouchita expanded art pottery operations to St. Louis in 1908 as well. This is a rarely seen and historically significant example of Ouachita Pottery.
