Rarely seen Ouachita Art Pottery matte green arts and crafts vase. Good shape and color. EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. No cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Minor factory grind marks to the base edge as shown. Bottom clearly marked with OUAUCHITA POTTERY and HOT SPRINGS, ARK. Vase is 5 1/2" tall and 4 1/4" wide. Ouachita Pottery was in existence from 1905 to 1908 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Arthur Dovey a potter at Rookwood is believed to be responsible for the development of art pottery for Ouachita. In early 1908 the pottery was incorporated. It is believed that Ouchita expanded art pottery operations to St. Louis in 1908 as well. This is a rarely seen and historically significant example of Ouachita Pottery.
