Rare and exquisite Natzler Pottery glossy yellow glazed bowl. EXCELLENT CONDITION. We had a very small hairline to the rim restored. No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked with Natzler. Bowl is 1 3/4" tall and 4 3/4" wide. SUPER PIECE! The work of Otto and Gertrud Natzler is world renowned for its simplicity of form and complexity of glaze. Natzler pottery can be found in collections of over fifty museums around the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Seattle Art Museum, Smithsonian Institution, the Victoria and Albert Museum and many others. The Natzlers were both born in Vienna, Austria in 1908 and married in 1938. With the annexation of Austria by the Nazis they immigrated to the United States. They settled in Los Angeles where they set up a studio, both teaching ceramics and producing their own pieces. Gertrude would hand throw the pieces and Otto would develop the glazes and fire them. Gertrud died in 1971 and Otto in 2007.
