Good mid century Rorstrand Pottery vase in a really cool snake skin glaze. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked as seen in photo including Ateleje mark. Some markings have been glazed over. Vase is 4 3/4" tall and 2 1/2" wide. Rorstrand was established in Sweden in 1726. In 1931 Gunnar Nylund along with Carl-Harry Stalhane (who was appointed senior artist in 1939) began developing the simple, organic shapes that have since become so sought-after by collectors. Rorstrand is probably the most widely recognized Scandinavian art pottery. A limited production series called an Ateleje, or workshop, was created in 1961 for Stalhane. The Ateleje also included the work from Inger Persson, Hertha Bengston, and Sylvia Leuchovious. The Ateleje series was not commercially viable and was soon dissolved.

Excellent service. The item matched the description, arrived very quickly, and was carefully packed. The price was great, too.
