Very pretty Roycroft Pottery colorful abstract scenic vase by Sally Danforth around 1980. Super shape with great colors. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked with ROYCROFT POTTERS, artist signed Sally and orb mark on the side of the vase. Sally Danforth was a partner at Roycroft between 1980-90. All work produced at the Roycroft studio was fired in our 60 cubic foot gas fired reduction kiln to cone 9. The distinctive orb and cross within a rectangle has been impressed on each original piece of Roycroft Pottery since 1974. The symbol is used to verify that the work was produced on the Roycroft Campus, or recently, produced by Janice McDuffie at her home studio in East Aurora. Vase is 9" tall and 5 1/2" wide. In 1895 Elbert Hubbard founded the Roycroft Campus in East Aurora, New York. Roycroft would become a cornerstone of the American Arts & Crafts Movement, employing 500 artisans at its peak and supplying hand crafted products to over 300 retail outlets around the country until 1938. The Roycroft Campus is now a National Historic Landmark.
